Flooded Chennai Tamil Nadu – Help People Mutually

Hello my dear readers and friends,

Please read this article for heaven’s sake! A humble request…

This is no nonsense promotional blog post.

I’m Anoop, the author of the blog People and Hearts, who is from Chennai, India. You guys would have read or heard about Chennai and its dreaded floods in the media by now.

I’m a victim of this flood. I have witnessed and still witnessing the sufferings of people affected by the Floods in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

Flood_Chennai_People_Hearts
Flooded Chennai and Tamil Nadu –

I’m writing on behalf of the people who are crying, craving and begging for food, shelter, clothes and blankets. The list of people includes pregnant women, infants, children, old people and many more. These people have few necessities. I will list it down.

  • Pregnant women – Thousands of pregnant women are stuck up in many houses who are unable to move out and are struggling for food. Only few have been able to be rescued by the Indian Air Force by helicopters and other NGO’s. You are now able to understand it better now.
  • Hungry children who have lost their school textbooks and clothes –  Yes, these children have lost their textbooks, clothes and all learning aids. They are made to wait and crave for food.
  • Crying elderly people – Why do they have to undergo all these cruelties.
  • Sorrowful mothers who are unable to feed milk to their children – This is really embarrassing and unfortunate.
  • People begging for food – These people who are begging for food today had cars and lived in a fully furnished AC apartment with luxury. Yes, they have lost their passports and credit cards too in the floods. They have only one pair of dress that they are wearing now. They left everything inside their home and walked onto the streets to get food for them as well as for their family. There are people who are waiting in the terrace of their homes expecting people will drop food packets to them.
  • People begging for clothes – You know how to hide your body and the value of a dress. These people need clothes to wear today because their clothes were lost in the floods. And trust me they are begging when rescuers are coming to help them.
  • People thanking NGO’s and rescue volunteers – The struggling people are considering the NGO’s and volunteers as the sons and daughters of the God. Yes, they are very happy and thankful to these helping benevolent hearts.

There are so many people out there in this world. The NGO’s and rescue team can’t reach out to all the people out there. But we can. If we help each other mutually with what we have, we can bring a great relief for the ailing wounds.

Yes we can make this happen. Please do your small help that can be a great relief for the needy ones.

Please try to help each other mutually.

I hope this article would have made you to think that you are a human being. Yes I believe that my words would do some magic inside you.

Failing to Win Someday

Failed_Win_People_Hearts
Failed? Try Again…
– Anoop ©People and Hearts

See, it’s very simple and it isn’t rocket science. Let me get to the point quickly.

It may be you or me. But most people experience this feeling. Read on…

I’ve tried, I keep trying, I’m still trying, I’ll keep on trying. All I know is that I’ve failed.

I’m trying this ever since I failed.

But I keep telling myself that there is no secret mantras for being successful. But keep trying more.

I’ve become more strong than yesterday. And I’ve seen so many yesterdays. I don’t fear anymore to fail again. Failure is not new to me.

But I want to win someday. And I’ll win someday.

But when will I win?

I don’t have an answer for that. All I know is to keep trying again.

The Missing Ally

This is a different feeling altogether.

When two men work as a team in all games and crimes, there is this synchronous execution of plans. One man plans it and the other executes it in his own unmatched style. When one loses the grip of the task, the other picks up the momentum and balances the ship. This is an ultimate team that one would dream of.

When the Batman loses his ally, Robin, or vice versa, there is a big void created. Both the Batman and Robin know it very well. They know that both rely on each other at crucial moments.

image
Batman and Robin. Image credits : https://flic.kr/p/8JZwKg

But now, the team has to split up. The thrill of a crime is lost when your best ally is missing.

The world has seen it. Some of the best music bands have tasted phenomenal success when they worked as a team. Their decline was easily visible when the team was split.

The journey with the best teammate is sometimes a onetime journey. At some point, the journey has to end. From there on, it’s a different journey with the leftover footprints.

This post is about the void and the feeling felt when one loses his ally. Have you felt it? If yes, do drop in your comments.

Selfie of the Moon with the Coconut Trees

image

Playing like a child, the moon giggles,
Crawling like an ant on a mission, the moon reaches the gloomy coconut trees.
Pretending as asleep like a lazy dog, the trees act,
Lying on the blue skies like a cloud, the trees practice silence.

Touching with eagerness like a menacing kitten,
The moon pulled the leaves of the lazy trees,
Reacting like a thief who was caught red-handed,
The coconut trees woke up laughing with the moon.

Lifting the moon like a toddler,
The coconut trees played hide and seek with the moon,
Holding the moon on their shoulders like a hero,
The coconut trees and the moon posed for a selfie.

Just like you, I’m here for a purpose. I’m just an ordinary human being. But…

I can make you cry and smile in a few seconds.
I can invoke emotions that you were hiding inside your heart.

But how is that all possible?

Well, you have the answer now. You have read something now. Yes, these are my words. My words are the footprints that I’m creating as a writer to make all this possible.

Creativity is Sheer Madness

madness_creativity_magic_people_hearts
Creativity is Sheer Madness – Anoop © People and Hearts

Have you ever entered into the world of ‘Creative‘ people? Have you ever thought how these creative people think? Well, I’ll take you for a walk into the world of creative people…

STATUTORY WARNING: This is not for those lazy bums who don’t enjoy and appreciate fun, madness and creativity. This is also not for those serious faces who don’t enjoy nature. This is also not for those people who follow the herd blindly.

If you have the patience and sensibility to think like a human being, then read on….

‘Creativity’ is a special talent or skill through which something new, unique and refreshing is created. It’s not blind copying but an art of creating something that is worth enough to talk about!

An enchanting music or song, a haunting poem or painting, a unique photo, a reverberating speech or idea, or anything unique is a wonderful creation by the rare breed called creative minds. These creative minds need a fuel, mood, or an environment to trigger creativity. The catalyst for these creative minds is sheer ‘Madness‘.

Creative people love madness. They love to explore the unknown horizons that others fear to attempt. They break the conventional rules and they are unorthodox. A fluid called ‘Madness‘ runs through their veins to make them different from others.

Creative people view a crazy world through ‘Madness‘. They are able to think out-of-the-box and create magic through their works.

Here are a few quotes about madness and creativity:

“No great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness.” ― Aristotle

“Madness in great ones must not unwatched go.” ― William Shakespeare, Hamlet

“The creative person is both more primitive and more cultivated, more destructive, a lot madder and a lot saner, than the average person.” — Frank Barron

“It is only through mystery and madness that the soul is revealed” ― Thomas Moore

“Madness is the acme of intelligence.” – Naguib Mahfouz

“Madness need not be all breakdown. It may also be break-through.”  — R. D. Laing

“If at first the idea is not totally absurd then there is no hope for it.” — Albert Einstein

“The extreme limit of wisdom–that is what the public calls madness.” — Jean Cocteau

“A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free.” — Nikos Kazantzakis

“Madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push.” — The Joker — The Dark Knight

This is the sheer brilliance of madness – it makes an ordinary person ‘Creative‘.

“A pinch of madness, when combined with creativity could produce sheer magic.”— Anoop ©People and Hearts

Summing it up, creativity needs a bit of madness. So be imaginative and creative. Enjoy madness!

Started Writing My First Book

Friends, I’m happy to share to the world that I’ve started to write my First Book. I’ve finally begun working on my dream of publishing my first book.

I know that writing a book and finally publishing it is not an easy job. But I’m more thrilled to take up that challenge of publishing my first book.

I must thank one person for instilling the confidence in me for taking this step. And I’m very thankful to my lady, my love, who looked into my eyes and said, “You must write and publish your book”.

If she hadn’t told me those words, I would have remained inside the shell thinking that I will publish my book one day. But when? I didn’t know!

Now, I’m sure that day is not far. So busy and difficult days ahead. I’m gonna make it a reality.

I’m gonna work hard for that with utmost sincerity and dedication.

Humbly Sorry for No Posts Last Month

I’m humbly sorry for not posting any articles in the last month. During this hibernation, I was spending my time reading other blogs and books, and interacting with people. It was a good time though but I did MISS MY WRITING.

I badly missed my writing. I always love writing. In the last month, I knew how much I missed writing.

I took one month of reading and learning curve that I desperately needed for my writing. I’m happy that I’m back.

So, I’m back again to weave magic with my writings…

Madness has its Selling Point

There is always one idea that changes lives, perception, science, technology, relationships and people. The nucleus of that idea is driven by a sheer madness.

Madness is an extreme state of passion, creativity, instinct and boldness combined together. Madness can make the idea work like a charm.

Great minds from the history books were driven by some sort of madness through out their lives. Madness is essential!

Believe in the madness of your heart. There will be a moment for this madness to click and make the idea work. When the idea works, there you have the selling point for your madness.

Embracing the Innocence of a Sister

Childhood days are always memorable as these days are decorated with innocence and laughter. Let’s take a look an eight-year-old boy who has a pleasant moment to share to the world.

Here is a little boy who went to the park every evening with his friends. He played there everyday even if it rained heavily. Fun is a rainbow of happiness when we look it through the eyes of children. But that happiness is always complete when we have a company to share it with.

One cloudy evening, the boy went to the park in search of that rainbow of happiness. But he found none. His friends were not present in the park. Thanks to the villain in disguise, the rain! His friends’ parents were not permitting them to play outside. However, this little one had narrowly escaped from his mother’s orders and reached the park silently.

The park was empty as he was standing alone.

Rain was pouring hard. The boy sat under a tree by keeping his hands on his chin. The witch dressed in the form of ‘loneliness’ was about to swallow him.

Just then…

“Hey brother, why are you sad”, came a voice from the other side of the tree.

There was a bubbly and innocent girl who appeared like an angel from the meadows. She was also caught in the middle of the rain just like the little boy.

“I want to play in the rain. Can you join me brother”, she said.

“Yes sis, I would like to”, said the eight-year-old boy.

Innocence has taken birth in the form of this angel from the meadows. They have never met each other before. But there was a bond of friendship that they shared. They played in the rain like the butterflies flying around the bloomed flowers.

Some relationships are special just like this. Embracing the innocence of a sister and a friend.

Following and Capturing My Twin – Shadow

Following and Capturing My Twin – Shadow  – Photo Credits: Anoop © People and Hearts

    Slowing down my foot steps,
Positioning myself against a metallic rod,
I was following him, my twin – shadow,
I was watching him closely like never before,
I was going to capture him with my camera,
While he was blindly imitating me.

He, my twin – shadow, stood there in front of me,
Lights falling on me during the night made him darker,
I smiled so that I could make him smile for the photo,
Only then I knew, he, my twin – shadow, could never smile,
While he was blindly imitating me.

    I captured his unassuming posture,
Into the photo album of time,
He, my twin – shadow, wasn’t smiling,
Although, I stood there smiling at my twin – shadow,
While he was blindly imitating me.

Solitude – An Artist’s Best Companion to Create Magic

The Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci. (Photo Credit: Wikipedia)
The Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci. (Photo Credit: Wikipedia)

There are some people who love to be in solitude. They wish that they could spend some quality time being alone.

They are called the Artists, who create magic with the rainbows through the ordinary grey shades of life in solitude.

We the ‘artists’ include writers, painters, musicians, singers and many more. We give life to the creations that we create with passion. We give our best shot when we are left in solitude. Creativity takes birth here, when we are ourselves in solitude.

The magic of our passions are read by you as the words that the writers create in solitude.

The magic of our passions are heard by you as the music that the musicians create in solitude.

The magic of our passions are seen by you as the paintings that the artists create in solitude.

Agatha Christie’s Peril at End House – Predictable

Peril at End House
Peril at End House (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Taking a look at Agatha Christie‘s work – Peril at End House, published in 1932, this time. The story did not make an impression that it was supposed to do.

Christie employs the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot as the central character for the story. Accompanying Poirot, Arthur Hastings returns to the picture playing his role well.

Mademoiselle ‘Nick’ is in danger, as she had survived three narrow escapes from death. Poirot takes up his detective role into the case with the use of his usual ‘little grey cells’.  How the story unfolds from there is up to the reader to take care of. Interestingly, Poirot fumbles but makes up in the end with clear head.

Narration by the author has its great flow till the end. But Christie fails to match the suspense and unpredictability seen in her other works. The reader is able to judge the accused even before the first-half of the story.

Not the best from the stable of Agatha Christie but deserves a mention for its clean narration.

Peril at End House –  a predictable peril in the end!

Looking at the World from the Clouds

Looking at the World from the Clouds Photo Source: Wikipedia
Looking at the World from the Clouds

Here I’m sitting on top of the moving clouds. They – the clouds are like a cushion making me comfortable. The music of Anberlin’s Innocent passes through my ears like sea waves.

When I look down at the earth from here, there is no better scenic beauty other than this. The whistling sound of the wind made the music even soothing. Waving my hands at the clouds moving in the opposite direction, I scooped up the chill snow from them. I felt the chill as I held the snow in my hands.

Again, my attention was turning towards the earth. The blue oceans down there was inviting me for a swimming session. I rose up and in one moment of boldness, I decided to go for it. Taking a deep breath to the bottom of my lungs, I jumped, hoping to hit the blue oceans. The winds were hitting me as hard as they could. My eyes were feeling the force of the moving winds. I was about to hit the waters in a few seconds.

Rushed the blue waters on my head. The rush was so intense that it produced electricity and obviously a tremendous shock.

I opened my eyes to see myself lying in the bed. ‘Where am I?’, I murmured.

‘Get up and go for work idiot. You will wake up only when I pour water on you’, my mom shouted.

Yes, it was the blue waters that hit me. But not the waters from the Blue oceans, instead, the waters from the water tank of my house.

Final Moments of Mystery

Final Moments of Mystery
Final Moments of Mystery

Every mystery has a conclusion and the ultimate revelation. The mystery surrounding this stranger is about to break out.

Finally he meets this mystery lady again after three months. But this was something unexpected. The long absence of the stranger made him to fancy that the lady has vanished. But to his surprise, the lady is standing near to him.

When he met her this time, there was a complete silence in his heart. He stood standstill observing the lady like before.

She appeared different from the last meeting, probably, a makeover of her looks. When he watched her silently with his head tilting towards her, there was a cautious glance from the lady. She noticed him like a cop on patrol. He felt the shiver in his body instantly.

The bus arrived to disturb the silent mind game that was taking place. The lady boarded the bus in no time. But he did not move from his place. His heart was pushing him to go after her and to board the same bus. He was in no hurry and decided that the time has not come for following her.

The lady disappeared as usual and he went about doing his routine work. Back at his home, he was thinking what has to be done next. The silence and the mystery surrounding the lady was bottling him up. He wants to bring an end to this mystery once and for all.

So the day has come, he arrives at the meeting place on time. The silence will take shape as words, as he is going to speak to her. The months of silence and mystery will be unfolded now…

Taking a Break to Return Afresh

Following a daily routine of work and activities for a month without a break makes people bored and tired. They lose interest in what they are doing as it becomes mechanical. So to fix this issue, they need to take a break.

Take a break to return afresh

While taking a break, people should make sure that they do those things that make them happy and feel relaxed. Staying away from the usual activities will be a good idea. Trying to get involved in new activities and hobbies could be a real stress buster. In that way, people are not only easing themselves but also finding new interests and hobbies. Here are a few activities that people could give a try:

  • Talk to people and interact more
  • Find a silent place and spend time for yourself alone
  • Play with kids
  • Find new music and listen to good music
  • Spend time for reading either books or from online
  • Sleep well
  • Explore places in your town or city
  • Try new foods and recipes
  • Eat chocolates
  • Eat healthy food and go for shopping
  • Hit the gym or do workouts
  • Play outdoor games
  • Go out and take photos
  • Go trekking
  • Enjoy the nature
  • Watch the moonlight
  • Sing songs that you love
  • Anything that people are comfortable doing and staying happy

The duration of the break could be hours or days. Whatever is the duration of the break. When you feel better and the mind is fresh, then return back to the routine activities.

It is always good to take a break. It gives people a clear and cool mind to start things again afresh.

When the Evening Sun Seduced Him

When the evening sun seduced him
When the evening sun seduced him. (Photo Credits – Binu Vijayan)

He came running like a drunken crab erasing the footmarks left by wandering people at the beach. The sands took the shape of an island that was destroyed by a man-made tsunami. He was the creator of this act of destruction.

After running hurriedly, he stopped at the seashore as the inviting waves hit his face. He was on his knees in no time. Unbuttoning his shirts, he looked at the feminine sun. The evening sun was too tempting for him for which he couldn’t resist it.

There was an undefinable beauty in the evening sun who was about to close her eyes in minutes. The evening sun seduced him to unbutton his shirts and look at her in awe.

"Here I'm waiting for you", he said.

When the Stranger Entered the Heart

There was only one thing that connected him with the stranger. It is the mystery. Yes, it is the mystery that the stranger showered him at the very first sight.

He searches for the stranger whenever he comes to that place. He looks around the surroundings and at all the people. He spends extra time waiting to see the stranger who has hypnotized him. But he leaves the place disappointed. The stranger is not to be seen in that place again.

He thinks about the stranger from days to nights. He has no clue about the stranger’s identity or whereabouts. He has met the stranger only on five occasions but that was more than enough to make an impact in his heart.

What is the reason for his attachment to a complete stranger to whom he has never spoken to? He has no answers for this question. But he knows one thing…

The stranger has entered his heart.

He wants to know the reason for this instant connection with the stranger. He is waiting and he wants to unravel the mystery surrounding his stranger. He will unravel the mystery soon.

Song of the Pregnant Lady

It is tough to live a life like this woman. Carrying a child on her left arm and an unborn child, the lady is singing.

She sings for a living. She sings for feeding her unborn child. She sings for feeding her another child. She sings for feeding herself and her husband. Yes! She is pregnant!

She is tired. The rushing sound of the moving train is overshadowing her song. Amidst all these difficulties, she sings and makes a living. The song describes the pain and struggle she endures.

It is tough being a woman. She earns respect.

The song of the pregnant lady…

Rubbing Hands in the Cold, Singing and Howling

Dark shower

That one moment when you don’t not care about people and time but you want to cut loose. That one moment when you are rubbing your slippery hands in the cold and singing your favorite song. That one moment when you are just being yourself.

It is here that you feel the idea of getting wild and crazy is nearing. Your adrenaline levels are pumping up and you feel the cold weather. You jump around and attempt your own share of dance moves. You throw all the stuffs you find into different directions of the earth.

You open the bottle of water and pour it on your head. You start howling at the dogs. Finally you stop everything suddenly.

Now you say this to yourself,

‘I felt good’.

Pink Floyd Songs for a Rainbow Life

raindowwwww

Pink Floyd has become a part of my daily life. My day definitely begins with a Pink Floyd song and so I rise. My night ends with a Pink Floyd song.

Whatever the situation, whatever the type of emotions, whatever the mindset, there is always a Pink Floyd song to the rescue. These days, I breathe Pink Floyd. I have started to look life through a Pink Floyd song, just like its prism and light.

The combination of a Pink Floyd song, night and a mild breeze is heaven. There is no better feeling than that. A rainbow and a Pink Floyd song are so similar in every aspect. There is love, hate, lust, misery, aggression, passion, bitterness, revenge, sadness, thrill, mystery and anything on earth in Pink Floyd songs.

If I could say that Pink Floyd is my love, I wouldn’t deny it.

Pink Floyd songs are for a Rainbow Life.

My eyes start singing love,

When I look into your eyes,

Your eyes start smiling love.

When you look into my eyes,

My eyes start writing a poem,

When I look into your eyes,

Your eyes start reading my poem.

Speak Up and Open Your Thoughts to the Right People

Speak up and open your thoughts to the right people. Be expressive.
Speak up and open your thoughts to the right people. Be expressive.

Why don’t we try to be a bit expressive? Why don’t we try to speak our mind to the people we really know? Why don’t we start a conversation with the right people to get a new direction in our lives?

Man is known to be a Social Animal. Human beings are gifted with the ability to speak. They can connect with their fellow beings through communication. But are we communicating with people, really? Really?

Domestic animals such as cats and dogs are better at communicating with people rather than humans. Pets convey their true feelings to people by their own languages. So where have we failed in communicating with the people we know.

Open up people. Open your mind, heart and mouth. Speak up. Speak out what you really feel. Let people know about you and try to know about people.

Speak and connect with the right people. That’s the beauty of communication in life.

When we speak to the right people with similar interests, it will lead to a better conversation. We get to know more about the world and people. Healthy communication leads to a change in the thoughts and perceptions of people. It will open up new avenues for a better life.  It is always good when we speak to the right people at the right time.

So be Expressive!

Earning Success the Hard Way

Magic

I want to earn success the hard way. I want to go there, give my heart in whatever I’m doing. I want to give my best creation with utmost dedication.

I don’t want a shortcut to success. I want to go there, toil myself, learn more and do what I love.

I want to write more. I want to create magic in my writings. When people read my posts, they should witness magic and feel a satisfaction of reading something valuable. I want to be a good writer by the hard way. I want to improve day by day.

I’m not a son of a millionaire. I’m not a superman. But I’m a very ordinary person and I want to earn success by working my ass off.

I want to earn success the hard way,

I want to create magic in my writings,

I want to give my heart into my writings,

I want the magic in my writings to reach people,

I want to be a good writer through the hard way,

Penning these words for my mystery lady,
Remembering the day one I saw you here,
Standing silently beside me like a stranger,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Thinking about something that I never knew,
Pretending as if you never looked at me,
Giving me no clue,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Seeing my mystery lady after three months,
Feeling a burst of newborn emotions,
Telling myself that the lady is special,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Meeting my mystery lady face to face,
Blocking her way unknowingly,
Looking at each others’ eyes,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Moving in opposite directions,
Pausing for a matter of purpose,
Turning and looking behind at each other simultaneously,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Seeing my mystery lady after a week,
Walking past her quickly,
Overtaking her intentionally,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Waiting for my mystery lady at the same place,
Wearing contrasting colors of attire,
Looking at each others’ eyes passionately,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.

Penning these words for my mystery lady,
Watching you again like the day one I saw you here,
Standing silently beside me like my love,
Knowing nothing about the next moment.
