Hello my dear readers and friends,

Please read this article for heaven’s sake! A humble request…

This is no nonsense promotional blog post.

I’m Anoop, the author of the blog People and Hearts, who is from Chennai, India. You guys would have read or heard about Chennai and its dreaded floods in the media by now.

I’m a victim of this flood. I have witnessed and still witnessing the sufferings of people affected by the Floods in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

Flooded Chennai and Tamil Nadu –

I’m writing on behalf of the people who are crying, craving and begging for food, shelter, clothes and blankets. The list of people includes pregnant women, infants, children, old people and many more. These people have few necessities. I will list it down.

  • Pregnant women – Thousands of pregnant women are stuck up in many houses who are unable to move out and are struggling for food. Only few have been able to be rescued by the Indian Air Force by helicopters and other NGO’s. You are now able to understand it better now.
  • Hungry children who have lost their school textbooks and clothes –  Yes, these children have lost their textbooks, clothes and all learning aids. They are made to wait and crave for food.
  • Crying elderly people – Why do they have to undergo all these cruelties.
  • Sorrowful mothers who are unable to feed milk to their children – This is really embarrassing and unfortunate.
  • People begging for food – These people who are begging for food today had cars and lived in a fully furnished AC apartment with luxury. Yes, they have lost their passports and credit cards too in the floods. They have only one pair of dress that they are wearing now. They left everything inside their home and walked onto the streets to get food for them as well as for their family. There are people who are waiting in the terrace of their homes expecting people will drop food packets to them.
  • People begging for clothes – You know how to hide your body and the value of a dress. These people need clothes to wear today because their clothes were lost in the floods. And trust me they are begging when rescuers are coming to help them.
  • People thanking NGO’s and rescue volunteers – The struggling people are considering the NGO’s and volunteers as the sons and daughters of the God. Yes, they are very happy and thankful to these helping benevolent hearts.

There are so many people out there in this world. The NGO’s and rescue team can’t reach out to all the people out there. But we can. If we help each other mutually with what we have, we can bring a great relief for the ailing wounds.

Yes we can make this happen. Please do your small help that can be a great relief for the needy ones.

Please try to help each other mutually.

I hope this article would have made you to think that you are a human being. Yes I believe that my words would do some magic inside you.

Lessons Learned from Chennai Floods

These words are coming out of me at the time of an ongoing natural disaster in Chennai, India. Life has changed for many people in the last few days when Chennai has been flooded badly.

I have seen a large number of people with benevolent hearts who have come up to offer their help to the needy. They are not people with great super powers. They are normal people just like you and me. But they are the ones who make the difference.

You might be rich and have all the fortunes to buy happiness. But when the rains have washed away all your money and occupied your home, you are left with nothing. Only people can help you. Not the money and your fortunes.

There are people with good hearts to help the struggling ones who they know nothing about. Good people too exist in this world. That’s why still the Earth is a nice place to live on.

At the same time, there are people with wicked ideas who are ready to utilize the situation. When people are suffering for food and shelter, some shopkeepers sell milk, drinking water and food for skyrocketing prices. They have no mercy on the struggling people.

The good and ugly side of the city and people is seen here.

But for the few good ones, people still hope for a better day soon.

Find the time and the heart to help people, at least during a natural disaster.

Selfie of the Moon with the Coconut Trees

image

Playing like a child, the moon giggles,
Crawling like an ant on a mission, the moon reaches the gloomy coconut trees.
Pretending as asleep like a lazy dog, the trees act,
Lying on the blue skies like a cloud, the trees practice silence.

Touching with eagerness like a menacing kitten,
The moon pulled the leaves of the lazy trees,
Reacting like a thief who was caught red-handed,
The coconut trees woke up laughing with the moon.

Lifting the moon like a toddler,
The coconut trees played hide and seek with the moon,
Holding the moon on their shoulders like a hero,
The coconut trees and the moon posed for a selfie.

Smoky Greenery – A Result of Pollution

Smoky Greenery – A Result of Pollution. Photo Credits: ©People and Hearts

Nature has lost its real color,
As the greenery imitates a shadow of pollution,
Pouring the acid of destruction onto the greenery,
Mother nature is seen smoking a pipe of death.

Mankind continues its guiltless atrocity,
As the mother nature sheds its tears in vain,
Cremating the nature in its on birthplace,
The greenery lives on as a smoky greenery…

Paper Boat Sailing with Butterflies

I envisioned a childish dream,
Paper boat wading through rivers,
Menacing breeze moving the paper boat forward,
Ripples portraying rainbows in front of the paper boat,
Butterflies flying on top of the rainbows,
Small fishes jumping through the dreamy rainbows,
Magic taking shape as the paper boat sailed with butterflies and rainbows…

Winds of Change are Essential

When the world around us is changing, we find it unacceptable. Our heart cannot take it easily at the first place. There is an uncertainty that looms around each of us.

In such situations, there is nothing much we could do. But to accept the reality and grind the truth without a denial.

Time is the only healer who could fix any change. Let the time find its own pace to settle things out.

Be prepared and let the winds of change hit us hard. The impact could change us for the better. Winds of change are essential!

The Night Sings with the Breeze

Lying and looking at the rainy clouds,
The night was hearing the echoes of silence,
Hiding behind the gloomy clouds,
The moon was playing hide-and-seek.

Passing though the moistened trees,
The breeze came caressing the lonely night,
Looking at the skies devoid of the moonlight,
The silent night was singing with the lingering breeze.

She is a Raining Memory

She is a Raining Memory. Photo Credits: Anoop © People and Hearts

I saw her lying on the busy pathway,
Nobody noticed her beauty,
She was feeling cold and alone amidst the crowd,

I stopped myself for a moment,
She was lying there and looking at me,
I took her and held her lightly,

Capturing her smile through the digital eye,
She turned evergreen and nostalgic,
For the years to come as a raining memory…

Hugging the Tree and Listening to its Heartbeats – Nature Awareness Campaign

Hugging the tree and listening to its heartbeats.

When I was a kid, I came running to you,
My heart said that you are not a mere tree,
So I hugged you like my best friend,
I placed my ears on your chest,
I started to feel that you too have a life,
I began to listen to your heartbeats,
I understood your feelings,
You said to me that I must protect you.

Even after years, I still come running to you,
With the childish innocence intact,
I still hug you like my best friend,
I still place my ears on your chest,
I still feel that you too have a life,
I still listen to your heartbeats,
You are here with me as ever before,
I’ve kept my promise that I gave you,
I’m still protecting you like my best friend.

 Save Trees and Save Nature…

This post is written to create an awareness among people to save trees and nature. Let this childish innocence pave the way for saving trees and nature.

People and Hearts

The winds, strong enough to make me poetic again,
The impact is clearly evident, as the winds kiss the trees with strong passion.
The flying trees make me dream again,
The visual of the most dazzling girl on earth,
Having her hair cut loose in the direction of the moving winds.

The winds, strong enough to make me poetic again,
The chemistry is clearly evident, as the raindrops kiss her lips,
The visual makes me to realize,
The love is near and I’m in love again…

Me, Moon, Wind, Silence and the Night

Torn away from the busy world,

Sitting calm as nothing to look forward,

Winds dash me to look up to the skies,

Looking up at the skies with my hand on the chin,

Felt the vibrating silence surrounding me,

As I had nothing to say but only emptiness,

Now the void was filling up,

As the moon, the night and the wind were lending me their shoulders,

The vobbling silence continued,

As I looked on unconvinced at the moody moon,

The night filled the emptiness with its dark shades,

I looked on clueless as the wind caressed the sleeping trees…
