Selfie of the Moon with the Coconut Trees

image

Playing like a child, the moon giggles,
Crawling like an ant on a mission, the moon reaches the gloomy coconut trees.
Pretending as asleep like a lazy dog, the trees act,
Lying on the blue skies like a cloud, the trees practice silence.

Touching with eagerness like a menacing kitten,
The moon pulled the leaves of the lazy trees,
Reacting like a thief who was caught red-handed,
The coconut trees woke up laughing with the moon.

Lifting the moon like a toddler,
The coconut trees played hide and seek with the moon,
Holding the moon on their shoulders like a hero,
The coconut trees and the moon posed for a selfie.

Frozen by an Illusion

People and Hearts

Frozen by an Illusion Frozen by an Illusion

Burning the dreamy shadows of illusion
that drew the smokey eyes.
Shedding the moistened leaves of illusion
that deceived the fading greenery.
Frozen by an illusion.

Attenuating the deafening voices of illusion
that disguised the lifting melody.
Vaporizing the hypnotic rain of illusion
that cozened the melting rainbows.
Frozen by an illusion.

Stumbling Over Shadows

Following the thought process of mind was hell,
Believing the inner voice was suspicious,

Eyes fancied the strange changes with difficulty,
Ears never listened to those timid expressions,

Touch and Raise Children Like a Butterfly

Every child is like a butterfly by heart. Children are the most blissful creation of nature.

And these butterflies are super sensitive like delicate rose petals. If you hold these tiny tots firmly, they will be crushed into broken pieces of painful memories. But if you touch them like a butterfly, they will fly like vibrant butterflies to the colourful meadows of earth.

Childhood days are the nest for these butterflies to flourish. They evolve through various stages of life and finally become the flying butterflies. For their evolution, they need to be fed with pure love, care and goodness.

A mother’s love is equivalent to a mother’s milk. There’s no replacement for this ultra goodness in life. All the proper mentoring and attention given to kids play a vital role in their evolution as a sensible human being.

On Being a Failed Writer

This article touched my heart deeply of being a failed writer. Success doesn’t come that easy. We got to earn it.

Writers Without Money

grant

At the age of 50, I am a failed writer. Except for a few articles on CounterPunch, everything I’ve published has been self-published. I’ve worked tens of thousands of hours, written hundreds of thousands of words, and have never made a dime. Had I spent the same amount of time at a minimum wage retail job, I’d be rich, or at least a shift-supervisor at Starbucks. I haven’t been able to find an audience. You probably won’t even read this.

So why don’t I quit?

I tried. From the age of 25 to the age of 50, I had one goal In life, to cure myself of the urge to write. But I failed. Let me explain.

The urge to write should never be confused with the ability to make a living by writing, or even the ability to express yourself by putting words down on paper. T. S…

Death on the Nile – Agatha Christie – Falls Short

Death_on_the_nile_Agatha_Christie
Death on the Nile. Image Credits: http://www.amazon.com

After reading the best books by Agatha Christie – And Then There Were None, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and The A.B.C. Murders, I expected a spine-chilling plot, twists and unexpected climax in ‘Death on the Nile’. But I was disappointed.

This is not a spoiler alert.

Death on the Nile lacks the aura of Christie’s novels. The plot is predictable and the characters are uninteresting. Two or three secondary  female characters appear more or less similar to each other. Hercule Poirot is confused during the quest of the murderer.

Not the best book of Christie, yet a readable one.

– Anoop © People and Hearts

Just like you, I’m here for a purpose. I’m just an ordinary human being. But…

But I’m one among you who can make a big difference.
I can bring about a change that you have never thought about.
I can open up new avenues that you were aspiring for.
I can make you believe in yourself beyond anything on this universe.
I can make you cry and smile in a few seconds.
I can invoke emotions that you were hiding inside your heart.
I can change the world.
I can make you a human being with emotions.
I can inspire you.

But how is that all possible?

Well, you have the answer now. You have read something now. Yes, these are my words. My words are the footprints that I’m creating as a writer to make all this possible.

I believe in my words that I create as they contain emotions in them. My words are the diverse emotions of millions of human beings. I’m writing these words for you, for me and for us. It’s for a collective growth and evolution.

To make a better world. To inspire the world. To make the world smile. To bring in a better change. Yes, I’m a writer and I love being a writer. I love writing for people. I love it when people in different corners of the world can feel the significance of words. That is the biggest satisfaction I get as a writer.

I’m pouring out my words through my fingers, as my words are my footprints for the world.

Lyrical Magical Wall –  Painting Credits: https://www.facebook.com/tintsandtinges

This magical wall attracts me like never before,
Undressing the dreamy child in me,
The magical wall smiles at me,
Invoking millions of colourful memories in me.

This magical wall excites me like never before,
Whistling at me like my menacing childhood friend,
The magical wall hugs me to my delight,
Pulling me to its scintillating beauty.

This magical wall makes me crave for my childhood,
Narrating its own story in lyrical style,
The magical wall touches my heart poetically,
Syncing like a rainbow of silent paintings and talkative poems.

This magical wall amazes me about its soulful tree,
Treasuring countless memories of photographs,
The magical wall holds the fallen leaves close to its heart,
Making the birds and the child in me to fly…

“It ain’t about how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It’s about how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.’

-Rocky Balboa.

It seems as though every single writer at some point in their life attempts to describe their process through the analogy of boxing. I’m a fighter they say. I’ve been knocked to the ground and picked myself back up again just to get where I am! Oftentimes their stories are inspiring and can in some way be loosely tied into the boxing metaphor, but after a while they can all start to gel together and fall into a state of forget-ability. It’s a great analogy; don’t get me wrong. But ultimately it’s a terrible cliché that we creative folk have forever tarnished. Even as I wrote out the epigraph at the top of…

Creativity is Sheer Madness

madness_creativity_magic_people_hearts
Creativity is Sheer Madness – Anoop © People and Hearts

Have you ever entered into the world of ‘Creative‘ people? Have you ever thought how these creative people think? Well, I’ll take you for a walk into the world of creative people…

STATUTORY WARNING: This is not for those lazy bums who don’t enjoy and appreciate fun, madness and creativity. This is also not for those serious faces who don’t enjoy nature. This is also not for those people who follow the herd blindly.

If you have the patience and sensibility to think like a human being, then read on….

‘Creativity’ is a special talent or skill through which something new, unique and refreshing is created. It’s not blind copying but an art of creating something that is worth enough to talk about!

An enchanting music or song, a haunting poem or painting, a unique photo, a reverberating speech or idea, or anything unique is a wonderful creation by the rare breed called creative minds. These creative minds need a fuel, mood, or an environment to trigger creativity. The catalyst for these creative minds is sheer ‘Madness‘.

Creative people love madness. They love to explore the unknown horizons that others fear to attempt. They break the conventional rules and they are unorthodox. A fluid called ‘Madness‘ runs through their veins to make them different from others.

Creative people view a crazy world through ‘Madness‘. They are able to think out-of-the-box and create magic through their works.

Here are a few quotes about madness and creativity:

“No great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness.” ― Aristotle

“Madness in great ones must not unwatched go.” ― William Shakespeare, Hamlet

“The creative person is both more primitive and more cultivated, more destructive, a lot madder and a lot saner, than the average person.” — Frank Barron

“It is only through mystery and madness that the soul is revealed” ― Thomas Moore

“Madness is the acme of intelligence.” – Naguib Mahfouz

“Madness need not be all breakdown. It may also be break-through.”  — R. D. Laing

“If at first the idea is not totally absurd then there is no hope for it.” — Albert Einstein

“The extreme limit of wisdom–that is what the public calls madness.” — Jean Cocteau

“A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free.” — Nikos Kazantzakis

“Madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push.” — The Joker — The Dark Knight

This is the sheer brilliance of madness – it makes an ordinary person ‘Creative‘.

“A pinch of madness, when combined with creativity could produce sheer magic.”— Anoop ©People and Hearts

Summing it up, creativity needs a bit of madness. So be imaginative and creative. Enjoy madness!

The Time Drift

Gathering the chunks of time together from the ground,
Placing the broken chunks on our hands,
Sighed we! Just then,
Blew the villainous wind over the pieces of time,
The fallen victims were the time, you and me,
As the time drifted away from us..

Lying down scattered in distant corners were the time, you and me,
Searching for the broken chunks of time were you and me,
Cried we! Just then,
Struck the cold-blooded lightning on the battered pieces of time,
Broken were the time, you and me,
As the time drifted away from us…

The actions noticed by kids in their early days are deeply imprinted in their subconscious brain. A fear or agony encountered by children during these days will haunt them throughout their lives. So as parents, we are cautioned!

We must raise and touch our children like a butterfly.

A Tribute to Nepal – Hearts Broken by Earthquake

Straight down from my heart,
To the shaken world and to the aching hearts,
To the haunting cries heard from far away,
To the sorrowful faces that I haven’t seen,
To the broken places where my physical body couldn’t reach,
To the needy hands that I couldn’t touch,
To the shaken world and to the aching hearts,

My heart bleeds pain…

Colours of the Darkness

image
Colours of the Darkness ©People and Hearts

Darkness is a muted emotion,
Felt by a few, living with it in peace.

Darkness is a colourful painting,
Visualized by a few, craving for vision.

Darkness is a tempting beauty,
For a few, admiring the smiling moon.

Darkness is a black wall,
Leaning behind it by a few, hiding pains.

Darkness is a haunting silent message,
Heard by a few, seeking answers in vain.

Darkness is a ray of hope,
Portrayed by a few, touching hearts of people silently.

Darkness is a supporting companion,
For a few, living in loneliness.

Darkness is an unending misery,
For a few, living with guilt and agony inside the prison.

Darkness is a preying time,
For a few, hunting down their prey mercilessly.

Darkness is a mating time,
For a few, dying to see each other after the tiring mechanical life.

Darkness is a symbol of heroism,
For a few, playing a silent protector – the dark knight.

I Can Make You Smile

🙂

Hey reader, listen to me. You are able to read my words. Alright!

Now, try to hear my words and look into my eyes. I can make you smile. Yes I can make you smile by the simplest way. Yes, I can do that darn easily!

You aren’t believing me right? Well I bet you that I can make you smile. I’m not going to deploy the role of a clown. Yet still, I can make you smile.

Now, I can see your eyes getting widened and see changes on your forehead. Hey just relax!

Now look at me! See I’m smiling at you. Yeah, I’m smiling at you.

And for heaven’s sake why can’t you smile back?

Hey you! Did I borrow any  money from you? I haven’t and I’m sure about that.

Hey if you don’t smile now, I’m pretty sure that I’ll be hitting a pan on your head. All I want is that you must smile now.

Aaaah, there I see your lips getting widened. Alas, you are smiling. I can even see your teeth. Now that’s the way to smile.

Let me take your photo now because your smile is a rare occurrence. So that you can look into your own photo and see you smiling.

Smile please. It’s that simple. And keep smiling like this. But not always because people will think that you are mad.

And still you are smiling. Awesome!
🙂

Trying to describe the silence between the two people,

When you stand before the mirror, it reminds you about a person who you are. The mirror projects a summary of your character and the inner soul.

The mirror reminds you how you see yourself as a person. The mirror is a bridge connecting your past and your present. It is the proof of your existence.

The mirror is the gateway through which you speak to yourself. It hides millions of lies and truths. The mirror is an illusionist who will trick you, if you don’t watch it closely.

Silence of the Mirror

Once walking herself into the undefined obscurity,
His eyes searched her through the valleys of uncertainty,
As he needed a mirror to see her again.

Tiring in vain in search of her,
His eyes ache seeking an answer,
As he needed a mirror to see her again.

Following the directions and paths she traveled,
His eyes bleed with the uncertainty of her whereabouts and existence,
As he needed a mirror to see her again.

When he was looking into the mirror,
There was she looking at his eyes through the mirror,
As her staring gaze sent a mystery of silence in him.

When the mirror reflected the silence in him,
The deadly silence revealed millions of buried emotions in them,
As the mystery clouded his eyes.

Time controlled their journey of silence,
With words left untold to her,
Left he looking into the mirror of mystery…

Being Different and Following Your Heart

It takes a lot of courage and immense courage to be different from others. Being different is not only difficult but thinking differently is another hard thing to do. It’s not for the weak-hearted souls.

When you stop following the crowd, it’s the beginning of the change. The change is a welcome freshness to your life. But you have to sustain that change and carry it forward. It’s because there will always be people everywhere to pinpoint your mistakes and demotivate you. And the common crowd think that you are uncool and crazy.

This is where your character is put to test. Let the common crowd speak their mind, you just have to hold on to what you believe in. But if you are shaky here, then all your efforts are fruitless.

Ignore the negative comments and grab the essential ones. Just keep doing what you believe in. It doesn’t matter how long it takes to reach the destination.

Just keep doing what you believe in.

If all the likeminded minds thought the same way, then the world will be a darn boring place to live. All great inventions and extraordinary changes are due to the the people who thought and lived differently.

Dare to be different. Think differently and follow your heart consistently. This is the coolest thing you can do.

Postcards of Positive Words

Years before the advent of social networking platforms, we were humble human beings who sent our wishes through the simple POSTCARDS to the people who mattered. These postcards hardly costed a penny. It’s not about the money. But the heart to make the people happy through our words.

I still remember when I was a five-year old, I wrote to my grandma how I missed her and I inquired about her. It made her really happy. When I stopped writing to my grandma, she used to complain to me that why I stopped writing to her. I realized then and even now how much she missed my small postcards of wishes.

Now, coming to our times, postcards are a rarity. But what’s the scarcity in offering the people near us with few positive words. You don’t have to offer them your fortune or materialistic things. But few positive words will serve as the helping hands.

Man is a social animal. You need people and people need you. That’s how the universe works. When you give your ten minutes of your time to someone who needs it badly, it can work wonders for that person.

Few positive words, that’s all you got to give them. You are making someone happy. They will be grateful to you.

Always remember, “Man is a social animal. You need people and people need you”.

Postcards of few positive words…

Blurred Vision of Reality

Sometimes, life is hard. At times, it’s damn hard! The reality is too harsh that people find it difficult to accept it. They bleed pain then.

One must learn to accept the reality and find a solution sensibly. Accept it! Move on! Find a solution!

It’s not that easy to do. But that’s the only way out! Live a better life. Accept and move on.

Learn to Say No When It Matters

As human beings, we tend to be polite to the people in our lives. We tend to make everyone happy. We say ‘Yes’ to most of the things in our life, even though we don’t like a few things.

This is where people go wrong. Even you have your own life, priorities and personal things. When you don’t like something and you are not okay with that. Then if your heart doesn’t allow you to do that thing you dislike, be firm. You can’t make everyone happy and you don’t have to.

Say ‘No’!
Say that you are not okay with this!

Saying ‘No’ is actually a good thing when it matters. So be confident in signalling a ‘No’ when it matters. It actually saves you from a hell of crap!

Listen to your heart! And never allow people to take you for granted! At the same time, stay humble and polite wherever it is required.

Started Writing My First Book

Friends, I’m happy to share to the world that I’ve started to write my First Book. I’ve finally begun working on my dream of publishing my first book.

I know that writing a book and finally publishing it is not an easy job. But I’m more thrilled to take up that challenge of publishing my first book.

I must thank one person for instilling the confidence in me for taking this step. And I’m very thankful to my lady, my love, who looked into my eyes and said, “You must write and publish your book”.

If she hadn’t told me those words, I would have remained inside the shell thinking that I will publish my book one day. But when? I didn’t know!

Now, I’m sure that day is not far. So busy and difficult days ahead. I’m gonna make it a reality.

I’m gonna work hard for that with utmost sincerity and dedication.

I’m humbly sorry for not posting any articles in the last month. During this hibernation, I was spending my time reading other blogs and books, and interacting with people. It was a good time though but I did MISS MY WRITING.

I badly missed my writing. I always love writing. In the last month, I knew how much I missed writing.

I took one month of reading and learning curve that I desperately needed for my writing. I’m happy that I’m back.

So, I’m back again to weave magic with my writings…

Poeple and Hearts in 2014 – A Review

I’m feeling happy that my blog is reaching readers. I’m happy that people are able to connect with my writings. I’m happy that I’m trying hard to write more and better. I’m happy that I will create more magic through my writings.

Thank you everyone for your kind support and believing in me and my writing. I will write better in 2015 and the years ahead.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 3,500 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 58 trips to carry that many people.

Too far apart

Cristian Mihai

many“There are too many of us and we are all too far apart.” ― Kurt Vonnegut

I’m writing these words knowing that people from all over the world are going to read them. People of all ages, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, of different religious beliefs. Most of them, I’ll never get a chance to meet. Most of them, I don’t know how they look like, what’s the thing they want most in this world, or what is it that they’re afraid of… most of them are perfect strangers to me.

Yet, simply by writing these words with these strangers in my mind, having the certainty that my words will reach them, they become a little bit more than strangers. They become human beings, just like myself, and that is one of life’s greatest achievements.

She Was Reading My Eyes

There was a moment of silence,
When words vanished from her mouth,
The sweetened silence flowed through us,
As my eyes were speaking to her silently…

There was a moment of silence,
When I cuddled her hands with a breezy feather,
The colorful silence splashed its invisible colors on us,
As my eyes were narrating a fairytale to her…

There was a moment of silence,
When I smiled at her with happiness from rainbows,
The rhythmic silence played its muted notes on us,
As she was reading my eyes silently…

Rhythm of the Clock

Style and a Half

We are painted by time. Our souls the brushes guided by the hours and days and years. Our wrinkles, our scars, strokes of paint the colour of life.

Art that lasts the fleeting forever of our lifetimes.

As we age, we lose our obsession with perfection, and allow time to paint its abstract beauty. For we all lie down to the rhythm of the clock.
