Translated version:
I wish to be a melting candle,
When darkness nears me closer, I wish to be a burning candle lighting the world.
When the flame is about to die, I wish to burn more intensely,
I wish to glow as brightest I can.
Thereby wiping out the darkness…
““What is to give light must endure burning.” quote from ― Viktor E. Frankl
Exactly. Nice quote.
What a wonderful sentiment.. 🙂
Thank you Carolyn
did i know that you are a malayali.. thinking..
nice read anoop..
Ha ha 🙂 Yes I’m a malayali. This poem was written by my friend Praveena. I did the translation of the the Malayalam lines into English. Thank you Akhila.
both are really good.. thumbs upto praveena too..
Thank you Akhila. I read three articles from your blog. Do you specialize in poetry? I read that Malayalam article on Radha… That was a fantastic read…
i am specialized only in software quality assurance and statistics…if I write a poem on that, you people will definitely kick out of this blogging world..lol
He he… But your blog has a definite style statement and attitude to it. Somehow I landed on your blog today. Glad I did…
me too glad to meet someone having my bro’s name..
🙂
really happy to know that you liked my Radha..
Radha article attracted me more than the English article. After reading the article Radha, I got a haunting effect on the character ‘Radha’… “Radha kye maathrame ariyu”
ya.. infact, i respect that character a lot.. heard that she is a mythical character.. but cant believe so..
Radha’s character did really exist. There are proven records to justify it. And so does the man with the flute, Krishnan… Mythical yes but definitely believable..
hmm…i ask my mind to believe.. but you know, my suspicious mind is a bit reluctant..
🙂
There’s another claim that Radha was elder to Krishna and she was a married woman. But in another version, I’ve read that Radha was of the same age of Krishna and was unmarried. Different versions of stories…
true.. i too heard these stories…wish if had some real evidences..
I will give u some evidences. The ramasethu bridge between tamilnadu and srilanka does exist and it’s manmade. That’s the bridge built by the vaanaras and Sriram. Mahabharata war has been given a date in the B.C. timeline. Ayodhya and Mathura all references from the past do exist in India. Google “Mahabharata war and nuclear weapon”
thanks Anoop..
I read ONV’s poem with almost same lyrics…
Is it so…
Yes
Can you quote the lyrics title, so that I will also check..
Actually I forgot it..sorry..this poem reminded me those lines..
🙂
I got it ..
Wow 🙂 thank you for reminding ONV’s lyrics.. 🙂
Forgot the exact lyrics..
Praveena’s next poem is coming soon…
Looking forward to your future posts!
Keep Smiling! 🙂
